"The Sight of Christmas"
by Sheila Corkery '22
Look there! At all the snow outside!
Watch as children's eyes grow wide Ornaments hang delicately on all the trees As people glide around on their skis The plows start to move the slush out of the way, As we, together, sit down to pray We decorate the hall with boughs of holly And everyone seems so very jolly We sing carols as one with all the neighbors And later we learn we’re not all professional ice skaters The presents await under the tree And children feel so much glee Christmas seems so serene But always keep in mind what this holiday truly means |
