The Circle of Love
by Grace Chiodo '18 and Tim Cote '18
Eyes of gold and a heart on fire,
True love being my utmost desire. I hear him whisper from a distant terrain, aimlessly guiding my young, ignorant brain. He pulls me in then quickly disappears, Bringing a day of smiles—another of tears. But being blindfolded in this ever-vast sea, I cannot help but chase what I cannot see. For there is always someone calling my name, Teasing my empty heart with his same old games. So I tug helplessly at my tarnished blindfold, Realizing love is not the idealism I've been told. And once the blindfold falls to the floor, I turn around, only to see love chasing my life round and round |
