Sonnet

My dear, let us not dream our life away
It seems the night is young and so are we There are so many things I want to say And are as many things that we could be I am the stars and you the glowing moon Each one of us compounds the other's light Even against a cloudless afternoon The two of us, our flame could burn more bright A blazing candle lights the way ahead The forward path appears to be so clear I need now lift my timid boots of lead And take it toward you without fret or fear The time to dwell in dreams has departed Wake up! My new life's bright day has started |
