Sometimes I Wonder

Sometimes I wonder,
About all sorts of things,
What the past has been,
What the future will bring,
The people I have met,
And the friends I will meet,
That's what makes life great,
It's the one thing you can't repeat.

I think of the silly things,
The days of laughter and play,
The fun-filled autumns,
The unforgettable spring days,
Those extraordinary times,
We had not a care in the world,
And I smile remembering you,
Tell me how your dreams will unfurl.

Then I think more,
About the things unseen,
Why am I here?
What does life mean?
Those questions with no answers,
I may never satisfy,
But I will always look for clues because,
What's life if you don't try?

And then I think about,
Your beautiful brown eyes,
That gaze of affection,
That money can't buy,
The excited glow,
That your smile could convey,
Those days long forgotten,
What made it go away?

But I regret nothing,
For life you can't repeat.
And your dreams are something,
That you should never mistreat,      
Don't let anyone dissuade you,
Because what's life if you don't try?
What made you go away?
I don't know, I love you,
Goodbye.
