Human Logic
by Elizabeth West '16

Picture
Will you come and take a stand
Come and fight, show you're a man
Battle for glory, freedom, and life
Then come now and take up a knife.

And when the war is won
will we look back on all we've done?
Remember the ones who died
and comfort the ones who cry.

Others are easy, to fight and to kill
if only you have the strength and the will.
You think you're doing what is right
as you sink farther and farther from the light.

For we are all human
and we all made a horrible mistake
In thinking we could solve our problems
by fueling the fire of hate

And will we have the courage to fight
the monsters in that eternal night?
Only time will tell
if we'll be able to conquer the demons that dwell
in ourselves.
