"Ghost of Christmas' Past" by Arianna Schifman '21
Art by Tim Cote
The dark sets fast
Each dusk sooner than last
But with tomorrow comes morning Bringing clouds of snow warning
That winter is coming to stay
The calendar lies
Discarded on the table to the right The calendar lies
Surely December can’t be right
Christmas is coming to stay
Only eighteen more todays
The time during the timeless
To reach out and say
We’re home and so is Christmas
And our gift is hope this coming year
And it is all each other’s Christmas
Whether or not we see them here
Each dusk sooner than last
But with tomorrow comes morning Bringing clouds of snow warning
That winter is coming to stay
The calendar lies
Discarded on the table to the right The calendar lies
Surely December can’t be right
Christmas is coming to stay
Only eighteen more todays
The time during the timeless
To reach out and say
We’re home and so is Christmas
And our gift is hope this coming year
And it is all each other’s Christmas
Whether or not we see them here
