For Your Eyes Only
by Emily O'Neill '16

Picture
Your eyes sink deep into mine
They pass through every thought and every dream that sparks behind them
They keep me calm though they are not ocean blue
I can't keep mine from them though they are not piercing green
They are warm
They are not ordinary
Gold in the sun
Dark in the night
I know what lies behind them and it does not scare me
They have seen who I am and who I want to be
Whether I catch them near or far I can I feel them
They widen as if every time they see me it’s for the first time
Looking at me sends tingles through my veins like a sweet toxin
I need it
I worry not the effects for I am in too deep
I fear to blink
I
don't
want
this
to
end
