Feeling Like a Freshman
by Matt Bildoeau '15

Four years go fast but still, alas, you feel just like a freshman
Classes pass and tests amass, but I still feel like a freshman
New yearbook pic, the camera clicks, we all still feel like freshman
Years go by, but here am I, dancing with the question
These years I've spent, worn and bent, grades were my obsession
But sitting here thinking clear, I see there's no retention
A little piece of knowledge that I wish someone had mentioned
Is when you are a senior you will still feel like a freshman
If I did it all again I'd have a small suggestion
Spend more time with friends and get a little less detention
Everybody feels this way and I am no exception
That is my advice to those who are in my succession
Growing up is nothing but illusion and perception
Pretending our maturity has grown when it has lessened
Lesson after lesson yet were not given direction
But if you ask for memories I have a whole collection
In college when I enter and I make my first impression
I hope to seem a scholar that excels in comprehension
Maybe get a job and land a wonderful profession
And once again begin my life, as a little freshman
