DNA and Dreams
by Mary Woods '21
Dreams can be deferred.
Dreams can be doused. Dreams can disappear. But dreams can never die. They are always there, Perhaps the most important part of you, Haunting your mind, Living in your cells. Living in the molecules that give you thoughts, Passed on to every new cell, Always there even when they are turned off, Because you are a byproduct of that dream. And maybe, someday They will be turned on again. Because like DNA, Nothing can be built without dreams. |
