Christmas Time
by Michelle Schremp '21
Fingers wrapped around steaming mugs of hot chocolate
My breath hangs in clouds around my head Warm coats and winter boots as we tramp through the snow A wreath on the door surrounded by winking lights An inviting red ribbon leading into the warmth of Home. The perfect tree decorated with perfect lights and perfect glass balls, topped by the perfect star surrounded by perfectly picked presents. A nativity scene of perfectly pure white, perfectly arranged around the perfect baby Jesus The children dream of Tomorrow, Santa dressed in a suit of white, his team of reindeer bringing presents across the world Bright red stockings invite presents inside, And Finally it's Christmas. Well, the presents are opened Well, the twinkle lights are unplugged Well, Santa ate all his cookies and drank all the milk Well, Christmas is over At least tomorrow is December I promise it will be just as cold |
