Christmas (A Point of View)
by Rachel Simone '20
(Inspired by the poem "Our Generation" by Jordan Nichols)
I believe in this fact,
That Christmas is nothing
Never will anybody say
It is the peak of the year.
It is wrong, the truth is
Christmas is a failure,
Thinking that,
It actually succeeds in bringing the world closer
Is a waste. And we know
Living only for ourselves and not caring for others
Is the way to go
Being joyful, cheerful and kind
Is a dumb thing to do
Forgetting the needs of others
Will not be easy, but we will try
Changing the world a little bit
Is something people who hold the Christmas spirit never do
Caring for only ourselves
Is how we handle Christmas time
Working to change the world,
It's a joke
The world knows this.
People will think the whole idea of Christmas is stupid
Unless we turn people's views around.
